Prior to this, Christine worked in Deals Advisory at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Kenya, where she focussed on M&A, capital raising, Public Private Partnerships, valuation and due diligence. In this role, she was involved in conducting the Vendor Due Diligence on KENGEN to support further privatization, supported in the feasibility analysis of Bugesera Airport, Rwanda and led the Due Diligence exercise for the initial acquisition of Nairobi Java House by private equity firm Emerging Capital Partners.
Christine has served as Assistant Vice President at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), where she was responsible for municipal bond issuances for a portfolio of infrastructure development projects, and helped structure PPPs in the manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, rail, education and leisure sectors. She also structured a pooled loan guarantee program for New York City which was designated by Mayor Bloomberg as a flagship project for enhancing SME access to capital during the Great Recession of 2008/9. She has also consulted for USAID, World Bank and UNDP.
Christine currently serves as an INED on the East Africa Reinsurance Company board and has served as Board Chair of Sanlam General Insurance (Kenya). She is a former board member of the Regional Economic Development Assistance Corporation (New York) and also served as Assistant Secretary of the New York City Industrial Development Agency (NYCIDA), a bond issuing authority. Christine is an Eisenhower Global Fellow and an Aspen Institute Socrates Scholar. She holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Studies from Trent University (Canada), an MPA in Policy and Finance from New York University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Ecommerce and Internet Technologies from Seneca College (Canada).
