The Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Mr. Davis Chirchir, today chaired the second meeting of the Steering Committee overseeing the re-tendering of the Nairobi–Nakuru–Mau Summit Highway Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project. The meeting took place at the National Treasury building.
Also in attendance were the Principal Secretary for the National Treasury, Dr. Chris Kiptoo; Principal Secretary for Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua; Solicitor General, Mr. Shadrack Mose; Director General of the PPP Directorate, Eng. Kefa Seda; and Director General of KeNHA, Eng. Kungu Ndungu, among other senior Government officials.
The committee received updates on the status of termination payments to the outgoing concessionaire, Vinci. Members also deliberated on the available procurement options for the road infrastructure and reviewed the proposed roadmap for moving the project forward.
The next meeting is scheduled for Friday this week to continue and deepen consultations on the project
